Roberto Cetera
Roberto Cetera, a journalist with a background in theology, has been serving as a Middle East correspondent for the Holy See’s newspaper L’Osservatore Romano and Vatican News Radio Vaticana for the past six years, operating from Jerusalem.
He recently published Come un pellegrinaggio with ETS, an interview book with the Custos of the Holy Land, Francesco Patton, featuring a preface by Pope Francis.
In the past, he has also worked in academia, management, and humanitarian solidarity. He has recently collaborated with Avvenire and Civiltà Cattolica.
With three decades of expertise on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the local Christian community, over the past year he has conducted interviews with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, former Israeli Prime Ministers Lapid, Barak, and Olmert, as well as former Palestinian Prime Minister Shtayyeh. He has also interviewed Patriarch Pierbattista Pizzaballa (Latin) and Patriarch Theophilos III (Orthodox).
