Nabeelah Shabbir is Senior Research Associate at the International Center for Journalists (ICIJ) and co-editor of the November 2022 ICIJ/UNESCO report entitled The Chilling: A global study of online violence against women journalists.
She was previously Conversation Editor at the Correspondent. At the Guardian, she shared a British Journalism Award in 2015 with the "Keep it in the Ground" team. She was recognised with a European Young Journalist award for her writing in Kosovo in 2008. She is co-author of a series of reports at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism on digital-born news media in Europe and innovation in media in the Global South. She has freelanced at the Financial Times and Twitter amongst others, and has reported from Brussels, Paris, London, Oxford, and Amsterdam.
