Lucas Batt is an independent media consultant and co-founder of Greater Community Media, a new initiative dedicated to supporting the development of community-centred media.

As a founding member of the paid staff team of The Bristol Cable, a community-owned investigative newspaper, over seven years he played a key role in its growth, leading efforts in organisational development, revenue generation, membership, and community engagement. He later coordinated Reference, a European network of pioneering independent news publishers, where he facilitated collaboration and knowledge exchange between newsroom leaders.

Now Lucas works with organisations in the UK and independent media across Europe, helping them build sustainable business models and strengthen their relationships with the communities they serve.
