Karlijn Goossen is a media strategist, researcher, and leadership coach with two decades of experience in public broadcasting, journalism, and academia. As genre coordinator Journalism 360 at NPO, she leads digital strategy, news product management, content distribution, and newsroom transformation, ensuring high-quality, audience-driven journalism across platforms.
Alongside her role at NPO, Karlijn is an independent researcher and academic fellow at Utrecht University, specializing in journalistic leadership, newsroom culture, and the evolving concept of journalism of care. Passionate about leadership and innovation, she actively supports media organizations and professionals as a board member, mentor, and strategic advisor.
Previously, she was Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Journalism at EO, where she oversaw digital news product management and editorial strategy. She also worked as a researcher, lecturer, and dean at the School of Journalism in Ede.
