Fabrizio Petri, a graduate in Law from the University of Bologna, has worked since 1989 in the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. He served in the Embassies in New Delhi and Paris, while at the Ministry he was involved, among other things, in Central European countries and worked at the General Secretariat and the Ceremonial Service. He was one of the organizers of the Italian G8 Presidency in 2009. He currently holds the rank of Minister Plenipotentiary and from 1 September 2016 he has been Chairman of the Interministerial Committee for Human Rights. A LGBTI human rights activist, he is one of the founders and current President of Globe-MAE, the Association that brings together dozens of LGBTI employees belonging to all the careers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. He writes in national and international magazines. An author of books on nonviolence and intercultural dialogue, he published the essays Karma Aperto (Moretti & Vitali, 2012) and Dharma Aperto (Moretti & Vitali, 2014).
