Pamella Makotsi Sittoni
Pamella Makotsi Sittoni is a senior editor with more than 20 years’ experience in media in East Africa, and currently serves as Executive Editor at Nation Media Group.
She previously served as Managing Editor of The East African (2012–2018) and Managing Editor of the Standard (2005–2006). She has also served in the development sector as Communications Specialist at UNICEF Kenya (2006–2012). Sittoni serves on the boards of the Word Editors Forum, the World Association of Newspapers, Women in News, Africa Check and the Women Corporate Directors (Kenya). She’s a Trustee of the Kenya Editors Guild, where she chairs the Strategy Committee. Sittoni is a Fellow of the Aspen Global Leadership Network, through the African Leadership Initiative. She holds a BA (Literature and Anthropology) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Communication from the University of Nairobi, and a Masters in New Media and Democracy from the University of Leicester.
