Nienke Venema
Nienke Venema is the managing director of Stichting Democratie en Media, an independent foundation supporting critical journalism and providing grants for projects that further a strong, inclusive and just democratic state. She is also Chair of the European Press Prize.
Previously, Venema was the national director of Humanity in Action in The Netherlands, an international educational organization that runs Fellowship Programs on issues of social justice. She holds an MA (Hons) in Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge and an MSc in International Relations from the University of Amsterdam.
