Marta Allevato is international correspondent of the AGI press agency in Rome, where she covers Russia, the post-Soviet space and Iran.

A graduate in Russian Language and Literature, she worked as a freelance journalist in Moscow from 2010 to 2018 for various media outlets, including Sky Tg24, Il Foglio, and the Swiss Italian Radio and Television (RSI). During this time, she reported on key events in the political, economic, and cultural life of the country, ranging from Vladimir Putin's return to the Kremlin in 2012 to the World Cup, and covering the rise of opposition figure Alexei Navalny and the annexation of Crimea, a prelude to the current conflict in Ukraine.

She is the author of the book La Russia moralizzatrice - La crociata del Cremlino per i valori tradizionali (Piemme, 2024).
