Francesco Paolo Del Re (1980) was born in Bitonto, in the province of Bari, and currently resides in Rome. He graduated from the Faculty of Communication Sciences at "La Sapienza" University in Rome. He is a professional journalist and has been working for the program "Chi l’ha visto?" on Rai 3 since 2011, hosted by Federica Sciarelli, initially as an editor and later as a correspondent.

Among the main investigations he has covered are some important Roman cold cases from the 1980s and 1990s, such as the kidnappings of Emanuela Orlandi and Mirella Gregori, the murder of Katty Skerl and that of the young José Garramon, the mystery of the disappearances of Alessia Rosati and Bruno Romano, and the murder of Countess Alberica Filo Della Torre. Among the more recent cases he has dealt with are the disappearances of Agata Scuto, Antonio Russo, and those of Viviana and Gioele, all occurring in Sicily. In the 2023-24 season of "Chi l’ha visto?" he tracked down the Italian man in Greece who had faked his own death for ten years and was at the forefront of the search for Antonella Di Massa in Ischia, eventually finding her body. He has also worked for Rai 3's "Mi manda Rai 3" and "Amore criminale." He has written for newspapers, periodicals, and online magazines, focusing on culture and especially contemporary art, with attention to themes of identity and the recovery of lesser-known twentieth-century works.

Also active as a curator of exhibitions, since 2017 he has been leading the curatorial project "Casa Vuota" in Rome.

For his journalistic work, he won the Civetta Prize in 2018 and the Golden Gorgon Prize in 2022.
