Ewelina Jelenkowska-Luca

Ewelina Jelenkowska-Lucà is a lawyer and EU official, currently serving as Head of the Communications and Deputy Director for Policy Strategy and Outreach at the European Commission's department responsible for digital, telecom and media policies.

An advocate in Poland, she holds two law degrees from Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (Lublin, Poland) and Tor Vergata University (Rome, Italy), and a Masters of Arts in European Studies in EU law from the College of Europe in Natolin. She joined the Court of Justice of the EU in Luxembourg in 2003, later moving to the European Commission’s Competition department in Brussels. She was Deputy Head of the Commission’s Representation in Poland during Poland’s EU presidency in 2011, then served as Head of Media and European Commission’s Spokesperson in Italy before returning to Brussels in 2017.

Holding Polish and Italian citizenship, she is married and has three children. She speaks several EU languages. She is responsible for communication and outreach strategy of Europe’s digital transformation, aiming at raising awareness and involvement of citizens and stakeholders in communication and policy making. In the framework of the DigitalEU Ambassadors project, she collaborates with journalists and influencers to promote EU digital policies, reaching always new and broader audiences, staying at pace of innovative communication.
