Emanuela Zuccalà

Emanuela Zuccalà is a journalist, writer and director. After a long career as a correspondent for Io donna of Corriere della Sera, today she dedicates herself to independent multimedia productions and information campaigns on women's rights. Her articles and documentaries have received various international awards including the Reporters Sans Frontières Press Freedom Award (2012) and the Marco Luchetta Award (2021). With the multimedia project UNCUT, which denounces the practice of female genital mutilation and has been published and screened in 16 countries, as well as in the European Parliament and the United Nations, she has won 19 journalistic and film awards. She has lectured at various universities, including King's College London and Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Since 2012 she has been a member of the Zona association, which conceives and produces stories and surveys of visual journalism.

She is the author of Sopravvissuta ad Auschwitz. Liliana Segre, una delle ultime testimoni della Shoah (2013), Donne che vorresti conoscere (2014), Giardino Atomico (2017) and Le guerre delle donne (2021).
