Catalina Gomez Angel is a Colombian freelance journalist based in Tehran. Since 2007 she focused her work in Iran and the Middle East, with special emphasis in Syria and Iraq. She contributes to international print media, magazines, and broadcasters including France 24 Español, La Vanguardia and RFI. She was member of the Univision team awarded the Scripps Howard Award for the documentary Joining the fight against the Islamic State. She is a co-author of Balas para todas: six women reporters in the Middle East and the Maghreb (2021).
