Tim Verheyden is senior reporter with the public broadcaster VRT NWS in Belgium. He makes documentaries for the VRT investigative current affairs magazine Pano and he is an expert for VRT NWS in all things digital. In his work he focuses on the influence of social media on society and the disinformation ecosystem.
He is the author of the much-discussed September 2018 in-depth documentary on the Flemish identitarian movement Schild & Vrienden (literally translated as Shield & Friends) in which secret conversations and intentions to infiltrate institutions and change Belgian society were revealed. The documentary provides a unique view into the minds of Flemish far-right conservative youth.
