Tamara Qiblawi is a Senior Producer at CNN Digital who has just completed a month’s assignment in Ukraine where she worked closely with local journalists, tapping into their varied and nation-wide networks to tell digital stories from some of the hardest-hit parts of the country, as well as those under Russian occupation. Previously her work with CNN has largely focused on the Middle East. She reported from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, covering breaking news during turning points for the region such as the killing of Qasem Soleimani, the Kurdish independence referendum in Iraq, Trump’s withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal, the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, the Beirut port explosion and others.
Before joining CNN, Tamara was a local journalist in Beirut working with international media. She also headed a media start-up dedicated to transmedia storytelling about the oral histories of a conflict-ridden region.
