Rinat Tuhvatshin
Rinat Tuhvatshin is co-founder of Kloop, an investigative and news media. Despite being based in the small Central Asian country of Kyrgyzstan, Kloop is the recipient of IRE's Tom Renner, Sigma and other journalism awards. Rinat’s personal focus is the development of tools that empower journalists. He believes that crowd-sourcing and AI can make journalists and society better and not worse. His current pet project is called GigaTurnip, a Django-based system for data collection and verification that enabled Kloop to coordinate and report in real-time observations from more than three thousand volunteers during elections in Kyrgyzstan.
