Previously Executive Director of Investigate Europe, Peter guided growth and transnational newsroom cohesion while championing cross-border investigative collaborations. His career spans senior grant-making roles at the Open Society Initiative for Europe, where he advanced press freedom and civic engagement, alongside advocacy for whistleblower protections, anti-SLAPP legislation, and pioneering pan-European campaigns like "My Voice, My Choice" for abortion rights. As former President of the European Youth Forum and an Obama Foundation Europe Leader, Peter combines deep sector expertise with a proven skill for building collaborative, multicultural teams.
Originally from Slovenia and now based in Barcelona, Peter is multilingual (fluent in eight languages), thrives in remote and distributed environments, and is recognized for his bridge-building leadership and commitment to inclusive, participatory decision-making.
