Paolo Peluffo is under-secretary of state in the current Italian government of Mario Monti with responsibiliites for information, communication and news publishing. He has served in a variety of high-level institutional roles over the past 20 years, including being official spokesman of Italian leader Carlo Azeglio Ciampi in 1993 and head of the communications department of Italian leader Romano Prodi from 2006 to 2008.
