Olena Boytsun leads investment activities in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) for Luminate, a global philanthropic organization, established by Pierre Omidyar, the founder of eBay.
Olena brings over 15 years of investment and management experience to her role, having worked and studied in Europe, Asia and the US. Olena is a member of the Steering Committee for the Civitates fund, a philanthropic initiative for Solidarity and Democracy in Europe, serves as a jury member at the start-up Seedstars competitions for CEE countries, and is a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Aspen Kyiv Institute. Olena initiated and leads the Diversity of Capital project in Ukraine with the aim to transform the financial funding system in the CEE region toward more flexible and effective capital. One of the goals of Diversity of Capital advocacy is to unlock more local and foreign capital for independent media in the CEE region.
