Nina Weingrill is a civic leader and journalist, with over 18 years of experience fostering equity, diversity, and community engagement in journalism. As co-founder and director of Énois, one of Brazil's first civic media organizations, she has transformed the media landscape. Her efforts have influenced the overarching media ecosystem, inspiring industry-wide practices that prioritize marginalized voices and local community building. Beyond her leadership in Brazil, Nina has collaborated on global initiatives like the Civic Media Census at News Futures - a peer-led community of practice based in the US -, examining systemic challenges and mapping practices that nurture communities and fight for information access. She has co-coordinated the design of the first Brazilian Journalism Fund, part of an international coalition led by IFPIM (International Fund for Public Interest Media).
