Maria Xynou works with the Open Observatory of Network Interference (OONI) project where she examines internet censorship in collaboration with international partners. She also works with Tactical Tech on the Security in-a-Box project and occasionally facilitates digital security workshops for journalists and human rights activists. Previously, she worked in India with the Centre for Internet and Society, where she did research on India’s surveillance laws, schemes and technologies. Maria has interned with Privacy International and with the Parliament of Greece, and holds a MSc in Security Studies from the University College London.
