Manuel Bortuzzo was a talented 20-year-old Italian swimmer whose live was tragically turned upside down on 02 February 2019 by a gunshot wound (he was shot in Rome in a case of mistaken identity) which ruptured his spinal cord, leaving him disabled and in a wheelchair. His first book, entitled Rinascere (2019), recounts his life since that February night. His dream has ceased to be to participate in the Olympics; it is now to be able to walk again some day.
