Jost Lubben

Jost Lübben is editor-in-chief of Westfalenpost and Westfälische Rundschau (regional newspapers in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany).

He was from 2005 to 2014 editor-in-chief of Nordsee-Zeitung, Zevener Zeitung and Kreiszeitung Wesermarsch (regional newspapers in Lower Saxony and Bremen), with years of experience as senior editor for both print and digital projects as well as special target groups.

After study of history and economics, he completed his PhD in 1998 with a thesis on regional press history in Northern Germany between 1895 and 1945.

He won the 2015 German Award for Local Journalism (category Local Affairs) with Westfalenpost. He has contributed to the journalism program of the German Federal Agency for Civic Education and is a visiting lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences in Bremerhaven. He is also a speaker at Forum Journalism and Media in Vienna, with a focus on the topic of audience engagement.
