Ernesto Galli della Loggia is Professor of Contemporary History at the Italian Institute of Human Sciences (Florence). He has taught at the Universities of Siena and Perugia and was Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University. A member of the Steering Committee of the Italian Society for the Study of Contemporary History and of the Italy-USA Foundation, he also contributed to the scientific committees of the TV programs Il tempo e la storia (Rai 3) and Passato e presente (Rai Storia). He is a columnist for Corriere della Sera.
