Enrico Giovannini is Minister of Sustainable Infrastructure and Mobility of the Draghi government.
A graduate in Economics from the La Sapienza University of Rome, he was later a researcher at ISTAT and research manager at the National Institute for the Study of the Conjuncture. Since 2002 he has been professor of Economic Statistics at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. He was co-founder and former spokesman of the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development, head of statistics at the OECD and president of ISTAT (2009-13). Among the roles covered in his career, he was also a member of the advisory committee of UniCredit, a member of the board of directors of the Istituto Affari Internazionali and chairman of the scientific committee of the European Sustainability and Financial Services Association. From 2013 to 2014 he was Minister of Labor and Social Policies in the Letta government, while in 2020 he was appointed to the expert committee of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers created to deal with the pandemic emergency.
