Douglas McGray is the co-founder and Editor-in-Chief of Pop-Up Magazine Productions which creates live multimedia journalism spectacles, performed for tens of thousands of people a year at grand, historic venues across North America, as well as journalistic experiences, installations, audio projects, print publications (including The California Sunday Magazine from 2014 to 2020) and editorial projects for global brands. Its work has been honored with a 2021 Pulitzer Prize, a James Beard Award for food journalism, a George Polk Award for public service reporting, a Michael Kelly Award, a Livingston Award, seventeen U.S. National Magazine Award nominations (including for feature writing, reporting, photography, video, and general excellence), recognition from Spotify for one of the Best New Podcasts of 2021, and two Magazine of the Year awards (2019, 2020) from the Society of Publication Designers.
