Daisy Veerasingham
Daisy Veerasingham is the 14th person to lead The Associated Press since its founding in 1846. Veerasingham became president and CEO of the AP in January 2022, after serving as executive vice president and chief operating officer. A media veteran, Veerasingham began her career at the Financial Times.
As chief operating officer Veerasingham was responsible for all of AP’s global operations including news, revenue, product and technology. Veerasingham was named senior vice president and chief revenue officer in January 2019, leading a global division comprising AP’s sales, product, marketing and customer operations worldwide. She was responsible for driving AP’s revenue performance across all business units globally.
Prior to this Veerasingham led the development of AP’s international video business, driving its transition as a fully digital, multichannel live news agency.
Veerasingham joined AP in 2004 as sales director for AP Television News in London. Previously she was group sales and marketing director at LexisNexis and held sales and marketing roles at the Financial Times. She holds a degree in law.
Veerasingham, a native of London, now lives in New York City with her family.
