Cigdem Toprak
Cigdem Toprak is a journalist and author born in Germany with Anatolian roots. She writes about identity, culture, migration, feminism and minority policies in Germany and Turkey. Her current focus has been upon topics such as human rights in Turkey, in particular minority rights and women’s rights. She has studied Political Science in Germany as well as Conflict Resolution Studies at Sabanci University in Istanbul, and completed her MA Program in Conflict Resolution in Divided Societies at the Institute of Middle Eastern Studies at King´s College London. Her career has brought her to Istanbul for the last two years, in working as a communication manager and journalist as well as author for German media. Her contributions have been published in Die WELT, Die WELT am Sonntag, Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, FAZ Magazin, ZEIT Online, Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, Tagesspiegel, Jüdische Allgemeine, TONIC, diesseits, The European and more.
