Nigeria lead Solutions Journalism Africa Initiative

Chibuike Alagboso has nearly a decade of experience in public health communication and advocacy. He is passionate about leveraging strategic communication, data and storytelling to advocate for public health policies.

His interest spans the social enterprise, health communication, tech and journalism sectors and has received various fellowships including the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders by the US Department of State, the LEDE fellowship by the Solutions Journalism Network, and the Journalist-in-residence fellowship by the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Belgium. He writes, trains, and mentors journalists on solutions journalism across the globe. He has served as a jury member for the European Journalism Centre’s Global Health Security Grant Awards and is currently a mentor for EJC’s Solutions Journalism Accelerator.

Chibuike currently works at Nigeria Health Watch as a Senior Programme Manager and leads the Nigeria side of the Solutions Journalism Africa Initiative. Since 2021, the Africa initiative has worked with 30 newsrooms across Nigeria and trained more than 100 newsroom and freelance journalists to publish 200+ solutions-focused stories. He has a bachelor's in Medical Laboratory Science.
