Anna Maria Villa
Anna Maria Villa has held, since 2008, the position of coordinator of the Office for European Citizenship in the Department of European Politics of the Office of the Prime Minister. Born in Rome, where she attended the liceo classico and the faculty of economics at the LUISS Guido Carli. Registered as a chartered accountant as a result of a brief period at PriceWaterhouse & Co., followed by three years in Agip S.p.A., Villa then moved abroad for family reasons and spent three years in Moscow and three years in Brussels. Upon her return to Italy, Villa worked at the Ministry for the Environment in the Cabinet of the Minister in his Office of International and EU Affairs, as Chief Secretary of the Under-Secretary for the Environment and then as Head of the Service for the Control and Management of the Park Authority. In 2000, Villa worked on projects concerning administrative innovation and training quality of PA staff. She then spent five years in the Office for internal control of the Office of the Prime Minister prior to assuming, in 2008, her current position. During the course of her professional career, Villa undertook two masters: one on quality management systems and the other in public management and communications.
