The focus of this session will be to explore the progress of the International Fund for Public Interest Media (IFPIM), a bold initiative that seeks to distribute a new raft of resources at scale and speed to news media in low and middle income countries. IFPIM has received significant seed funding from the US government, and several other donors are expected to come on board in the new year. In the meanwhile, the need to ensure the viability of news media grow more urgent. This panel will be an opportunity for the journalism community to engage with the Fund on its initial priorities, to find out more about who makes the decisions on funding and how those decisions are made. It will also explore what the long term vision of IFPIM is.

Organised in association with The International Fund for Public Interest Media.
