Online abuse is being used as a tool to silence journalists globally, with women media workers disproportionately targeted and attacked. The International Women’s Media Foundation created the Coalition Against Online Abuse, with nearly 50 partners and growing, to fight back against the trolls. Our panel will spotlight different strategies that are working and what is still needed to better protect journalists. We’ll highlight resources, alliances, and approaches from newsrooms, press freedom, civic tech, and human rights organizations that can be scaled to tackle this massive problem.
