Presently, user-generated content represents an extremely valuable and sometimes unique source of journalistically relevant news, facts and images. Nevertheless, the use of this information, and in particular audio-visual content, and its possible revision and dissemination on the Internet, raise sensitive issues in terms of intellectual property and the responsibilities imposed by the authenticity of the news. This talk aims to define possibilities, limitations and risks associated with the use of user-generated content in journalism.
