Hulk Hogan - aka Terry Bollea - was among the most famous pro wrestlers of the 80s. Outside the ring, in 2016, the former WWE star was at the center of a completely different battle: the trial that saw him defeat - and scuttle economically - the online media organisation Gawker, sentenced to a payment of $140 million for invasion of privacy. At the center of the trial, the publication by Gawker of excerpts of a video in which Hulk Hogan had sexual relations with a married woman. The legal costs incurred by Hulk Hogan were paid, it was subsequently revealed, by Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal.
Brian Knappenberger is the director of the documentary Nobody speak - Hulk Hogan, Gawker and trials of a free press, a finalist at the 2017 Sundance Festival, while Netflix has acquired the international rights of the film.
