Too often journalists tell their readers and viewers what they consider to be the problem. Reporters sometimes try to find ways to prove their own beliefs instead of listening to the real-life experiences of others.
Life Links wants to make a difference. We think that listening is fundamental to meaningful journalism. In order to share young people’s realities and their common challenges all over the globe, Life Links follows - right from the earliest planning phase - its community’s ideas, suggestions and inspirations. In dialogue with viewers and readers, Life Links shapes a cross-media narrative that intertwines video documentaries with in-depth online content.
The session will demonstrate and discuss the concept of listening journalism with examples and experiences from Life Links.
