The tortoise and the hare – there’s hope yet
Four out of ten Italian families don’t have access to internet, Italy is in fourth-to-last place in Europe as regards broadband provision, e-commerce in Italy is relatively limited, Italian public institutions use the web relatively gingerly. The new Mario Monti government is rushing to the rescue with the announcement of a Digitalia decree to be passed by June 2012 which will address all of these issues. Too little, too slow, too late? Or is another Italian miracle around the corner?
