The festival received over 1000 volunteer applications for the 2012 festival. A total of 162 volunteers have been selected, 119 Italians and 43 non-Italians from 27 different countries: Armenia, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Costa Rica, The Czech Republic, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, Nepal, The Netherlands, Pakistan, Poland, The Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Spain, UK, USA.
A total of 105 of these volunteers, including all the non-Italian volunteers, will be provided with free accommodation during the festival. The remaining 57 volunteers live in or near Perugia and so won’t require accommodation. The volunteers will stay at the Perugia Youth Hostel, located in the heart of the historic town centre, and also (thanks to a new partnership with the Association of Italian Youth Hostels which kindly offered to host 25 volunteers during the festival) at the Ostello Mario Spagnoli, a fine structure located just outside the town centre and adjacent to the MiniMetro station from where passengers can reach the town centre in a few minutes.
Volunteers will be involved in one or more of the following activities during the festival: press office, logistics, infopoint, webmagazine, photography, video-making, webradio.
