For #ijf23 a bus transfer service for festival attendees from Rome Fiumicino airport to Perugia (and from Perugia to Rome Fiumicino airport) will be available. This transfer service will be simpler and quicker than taking the train. The new transfer service is in response to attendee requests over the years to help facilitate the trip to/from Perugia. I am not a speaker or a guest of the festival; can I use the bus service? Yes. The bus can be used by festival attendees.
I am a festival speaker; do I need to buy a ticket? No. The festival organisation will book and pay for your transfer.
How much does a ticket cost? Each ticket costs 25 euros one way per person.
What routes can I book? The bus service is only available from Rome Fiumicino Leonardo Da Vinci airport to Perugia centre, and from Perugia centre to Rome Fiumicino Leonardo Da Vinci airport. There are no intermediate stops or other departure/arrival points.
Where can I buy the ticket? Only on this website. The ticket cannot be purchased on the bus.
How long is the trip? The journey time in each direction is approximately 3 hours. For the trip from Rome Fiumicino Leonardo Da Vinci airport to Perugia, it is recommended to choose a bus departure time which provides ample time for passport control and baggage collection. For the trip from Perugia to Rome Fiumicino Leonardo Da Vinci airport, it is recommended to choose a bus departure time which provides ample time for airport check-in and security checks.
When can I buy the ticket? Seats on the buses are subject to availability so the sooner you buy the ticket the better. The latest you can buy a ticket is 12 hours before the bus departure. After this point, it will not be possible to buy a ticket.
How and where will I receive the ticket? You will receive a confirmation email immediately after ticket purchase. Each ticket will have a unique PNR code. This code must be shown to the driver on entering the bus.
Must I print the ticket? For your convenience only, but it is not necessary. You can show the driver the PNR code in your confirmation email directly from your mobile phone screen.
Where is the bus departure and arrival point? The buses will leave from in front of International Arrivals of Rome Fiumicino Leonardo Da Vinci airport and will arrive in the centre of Perugia. You will receive precise information on departure and arrival points in your confirmation email.
I’m staying in a hotel near Perugia; is an additional stop possible? No, the only scheduled stops are the departure/arrival points at Rome Fiumicino Leonardo Da Vinci airport and in central Perugia. The bus driver is not authorized to deviate from the established route.
Can I select my seat? No, seats are not assigned.
Can the purchased ticket be changed? No, tickets are valid only for the route and the departure time chosen at the moment of purchase.
Can the purchased ticket be refunded? No.
How long in advance should I arrive at the departure point? What if I’m late? The bus will be at the departure point 30 minutes before departure. Ticket-holders should arrive at least 5 minutes before departure. Unfortunately, the bus cannot wait for ticket-holders who arrive late. Tickets for missed buses are not transferable. If you are late and therefore miss the bus, it is recommended that you take the train.
