Submissions are now open for Stories on Umbria International Journalism Award 2019 (tenth edition). All applications – articles or audio-visual reports – must be received, together with the duly completed and signed candidature form (available in the above link), by no later than 19th February 2019 by the Competition Organisation Secretary’s Office.
The competition, announced by Perugia and Terni Chambers of Commerce, is reserved to those articles dealing with the region’s artistic-cultural-environmental points of excellence and the high quality typical economic-productive system, bringing the national and international focus on Umbria and its territory and contributing to valorising the best of Umbrian business production.
The award is divided up into five separate sections:
Tourism, environment and culture – €2,500.00
We accept photo-journalism articles published in daily or periodic national and international newspapers and magazines, including on-line ones between 1st January 2018 and 18th February 2019 principally dealing with the tourist, landscape, environmental and cultural heritage of Umbria. The articles must be sent together with a copy of the daily or periodical publication in which they were published (alternatively, for applications made via email, a digital copy of the daily or periodical publication may be attached).
Umbria del Gusto – €2,500.00
We accept photo-journalistic articles published in daily or periodic national and international newspapers and magazines, including on-line ones between 1st January 2018 and 18th February 2019 principally dealing with the typical and high quality enogastronomic production of Umbria. The articles must be sent together with a copy of the daily or periodical publication in which they were published (alternatively, for applications made via email, a digital copy of the daily or periodical publication may be attached).
Videos – €2,500.00
We accept audio-visual reports aired between 1st January 2018 and 18th February 2019 on national or satellite television channels or on the internet. These reports must be accompanied by a synopsis in Italian or alternatively in English.
Jury Prize – €2,500.00
The Committee, whose decision is final and absolute, may furthermore award the Jury Prize to any candidate considered particularly worthy from among the three main categories of the competition.
Schools of Journalism Award – Prize €1,000.00
The Schools of Journalism Award is reserved exclusively for video reports carried out by students of schools of journalism in Italy recognised by the National Council of the Order of Journalists. We only accept video reports aired between 1st January 2018 and 18th February 2019 on national or satellite television channels or on the internet.
All the winners will be invited to participate in the awards ceremony to be held during the XIII edition of the International Journalism Festival (Perugia, 3-7 April 2019).
